1. DO NOT USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. IT MAKES TEXT HARD TO READ. Save them for acronyms.

2. Use italics for "quotes", highlighting thoughts and ideas and for book, magazine and journal titles.

3. Avoid underlining which clutters up a page and can look like hypertext. Use bold or italics for emphasis.

4. Combine normal, bold, italics and bold italics within a single typeface.
