Tropical Climates do not have seasons like Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. Every day is like the video showed. However what does change is the amount of rain that falls. The rainy season in Zambia lasts from November until May. The daily downpours are heavy during these months but Zambians welcome these rains because they are necessary to grow crops. The stample food in Zambia is maize. The dry season occurs between May and October. The downpours are very light during these months. October is the hottest month of the year with temperatures reaching 30 degrees. However because of the humid, sticky air it feels a lot hotter. Global Warming is causing the rainy season to come later and later every year. When the rains do come, they are heavier than usual and they often damage the crops and flood the roads. If this continues, food production in Zambia could be affected in the future. |
